First time grower, how to cure buds that are dried out?
This is my first grow ever, started with 4 cloned plants (each a different strain) I got from a reputable source.
I (we) grew these tiny plants on June 1st from our deck rails until a couple were over 7ft. We then moved them to a back yard with plenty of sunlight. September rolled around and some wonderful buds appeared. Mid October, on the advice of a friend she recommended pulling a couple of plants from the sunlight. As we needed to remove the rest of the fantails we moved them to a carport, out of the sun.
This was only for about four days, by then the last plant was deemed “ready”. So we started to chop and hang. We ended up throwing one plant out entirely because it had developed rot (rip). We had a dehumidifier in our dry room, but after the 1st day instead of having 60% RH we ended up with 50% for the rest of the drying. In all, they dried for 10 days. We did a little more trimming while putting into 1G glass jars. But all of the buds were overly dry IMO. I would never buy such dried out buds, compared to what you can acquire from other outlets. They have been “curing” in these jars for only a few days.
- Would putting in some 62% Boveda packets help bring moisture back to these buds?
- Will I still need to burp them? How often?
- How many packets would I need per jar? I assume it’s based upon weight per jar?
