VV TA Booking Change Advice
Hey everyone,
I have booked a voyage for May 2026 with a TA and have now decided to change to a different sailing in April 2026.
This is where it gets complicated.
The new sailing in April 2026 is sold out. So as soon as a room became available, I booked it directly with Virgin Voyages and put it on a place hold, as I was worried it would be gone by the time my TA was able to pick up my messages.
I have just simply asked for it to be cancelled so it can quickly get snapped up by my TA. But was told it will not come available at the same standard rate and probably appear as a higher priced Lock it in Rate.
I have contacted my TA to inform them that I wish to cancel my original voyage in May 2026 and to ask if they are able to take control of my new booking put on a place hold from Virgin Voyages and transfer my deposit, sailor loot, and discount to the new booking.
The problem now is that my TA is giving information passed on from VV that the original booking needs to be canceled by VV and that the same booking reference needs to be applied to the new booking. VV is saying the TA should be able to cancel and apply everything to the new booking.
All seems to be a mess, with each party saying different things. Does anyone have any experience with this on how to move forward?
