Is it ok to feel hatred towards a past girlfriend - 27M and 26F
Met a girl on vacation, we spent a few days together and I later went to her country a couple of weeks later to see her again. We got very close and emotionally attached in a short time. We were supposed to see each other a third time but she had reservations because she couldn't do a long distance relationship and knew what we were doing wasnt viable long term. We talked and she agreed to see me again so I booked a flight and accommodation in her country. The next day she said she changed her mind. She went into detail as to why she changed her mind and it all does make sense. But it hurt me, although I accepted it nonetheless. 4 weeks of no contact later I reached out to her to see if she wanted to talk, I sent 3 messages over the past couple of days and she didn't reply.
Now I know her well enough to understand she is probably handling this badly, but we discussed in the past before the 'breakup' that she wanted to keep in touch once we stopped seeing each other. And I know she is very sad. But I cant help but feel hatred towards her now. I've been depressed since she changed her mind and knowing she is just seeing my messages and ignoring me which is making it worse. And I feel like an idiot for basically triple texting her.
I know it's normal to feel hatred sometimes, but is it justified in this case? I hope it's not justified because I dont want to hate her, but if she reaches out to me which is a possibility I feel like I'll snap at her.
Thanks.
