New set up - Wiim ultra, denon avr1800, kef Q750
After the death of my soundbar, I've been looking to get a legit starter system but I'm learning as I go. Been asking around and got some great advice. Since I'll mostly use it for music, I really only need 2 speakers and a sub. Depending on the speakers, might want to add an amp to get the best sound. You don't have to get it all in one shot; get what the budget allows and upgrade later. Unfortunately, the only place where I can demo anything near me is Best Buy so the options are limited.
After listening to different subs, I'm set on getting a SVS sb1000 pro subwoofer. I also think I'm going to get a couple used Kef Q750s from ebay which are very reasonably priced. I can get an old 90's denon AVR 1800 for $100 (it works fine but it doesn't have any hdmi inputs or wifi or bluetooth etc). It does however have preouts for the amp and it's 80 watts per channel. I was thinking I could pair that with the Wiim ultra. 1.It would be my amp; 2.it would get me the wifi and bluetooth for spotify because all my music is on my computer; 3.it's got the hdmi input for playstation/blu ray. And it doesn't break the bank.
Will this work? Would I hook the wiim into the denon and connect the speakers to the denon or the denon into the wiim and connect the speakers to the wiim? Or are there better options I'm not considering?
