Made huge gains on speculative investments and now looking to diversify and de-risk
Hello everbody,
I am 30 yo, and over the last few years I managed to make some pretty lifechanging gains for myself in the cryptocurrency markets (I know.. I know..) and am now looking to de-risk and rebalance my gains into a more responsible portfolio, and would like to hear peoples' opinions here on what my current overall financial situation look like.
My finances are currently as follows:
Roth IRA
$94k in VT
$29k in VTI
Traditional IRA
$45k in VT
$1.7k in SGOV
Long/Short Direct Index
$109k tracking Russell 1000 (using to TLH to offset some short term capital gains from previous spec investments)
HYSA
$109k at 4.15%
Other
$15k parked elsewhere waiting for a savings account sign up bonus at end of January which will move to HYSA thereafter
Liabilities
Car loan ~$29k at 1.9% for 5 years
Over next few years will be looking to buy a home, which is why I have so much cash on hand still, also will need to pay for some tax on short terms gains with cash reserves, but a lot of my gains were in my roth so no worries there.
Income situation is currently about ~100k/year in HCOL area but my income is not necessarily consistent and last year I had a very rough year and was unemployed for a large chunk of time.
At this point I feel pretty good about my position but would like to hear others' thoughts. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
