Parking for Orlando Magic vs Boston Celtics at Kia Center Nov 7
hey whats up everyone, super excited for the Magic vs Celtics game on the 7th. i know parking around the kia center can be a pain so figured i'd share some tips to make it easier for anyone going.
honestly the best way to go is using an app called Prked. you can rent someones private driveway or garage right next to the kia center for the game. it's way cheaper than the official lots and you get to skip a lot of the traffic chaos after the game is over since you're not fighting to get out of a huge garage with everyone else. its a super short walk to the arena and you know your spot is guaranteed.
if you dont go that route, the main official option is the geico garage right next to the kia center. its pretty convenient because it has a covered walkway that takes you straight into the arena, which is awesome if it's raining. you have to pre-pay for your spot on ticketmaster or the citys website by 5pm the day before the game though, so dont forget. theres also the 520 w pine st garage which is about a 5 minute walk.
there are a bunch of other city garages around downtown that are good options too, like the central blvd garage and the garland avenue lot. they usually cost between 10 and 20 bucks for event parking. you can actually reserve a spot in these online beforehand which i would definitely recommend.
a little local tip, if you get there a bit early, metered street parking is free after 6 pm. so if you show up before 6, you only have to pay for a little bit of time and then you're good for the rest of the night.
just a heads up, traffic in downtown orlando can get pretty bad, especially with the i-4 construction that seems to never end, so give yourself plenty of extra time to get there. if you're using uber or lyft, they have a special drop-off and pickup spot at the corner of hughey and pine street to make things smoother. you can also look into the sunrail or lymmo buses if you want to avoid driving altogether.
one last thing, the kia center has a super strict no bag policy. they only let in really small clutches or medical/parent bags, so make sure you check the dimensions on their website before you go.
hope this helps everyone out and makes getting to the game a little less stressful. Go Magic
