Finnish startup founder here - tried contacting Finnish companies, got total radio silence. Normal?

Hei all,

I'm a Finnish founder (Swedish-speaking) running a small data startup, and I've been trying to get in touch with some larger Finnish companies (grocery and FMCG firms mostly) to talk about possible collaboration or just to learn how they use data in their insights work.

I've sent polite emails, LinkedIn messages, even dropped off a printed letter at a company's reception - and I haven't received any reply at all. Not even a "no thanks".

I'm not angry, just a bit puzzled. Is this just how things are in Finland?
Do bigger companies here generally avoid cold contact from startups unless you come through Business Finland, Slush, Maria 01, or some known network?

Would love to hear from others who've tried reaching out to Finnish corporates, or from people inside those companies, on how to actually start a conversation.
Is it purely about warm intros, or is there another way to be heard?

Cheers!
