Tactical Concerns Regarding Camavinga’s Role Against Liverpool
Dear Real Madrid Management,
In the recent match against Liverpool, it became evident from the 10th minute onward that Eduardo Camavinga was a tactical liability. His positioning was consistently off—either ahead or behind the play—and he was never in the right spot to intercept or support.
The goal conceded clearly highlighted this issue. A defensive player must first maintain the offside line and then drop back to defend after the ball is played. Camavinga, however, stepped back too early, breaking the offside trap, and then moved forward after the ball was delivered—creating space for the attacker and contributing directly to the goal.
This pattern was visible even in the first half, and a substitution could have prevented the damage. We saw similar vulnerabilities during Ancelotti’s tenure, especially in matches against fast-paced teams like Barcelona.
Given this recurring issue, we respectfully ask: Why is Camavinga consistently deployed against speed-based teams despite his tactical mismatch? Is there a non-football reason behind these decisions, or is there a technical rationale that fans are unaware of?
We share this concern out of love for the club and a desire for transparency and tactical clarity.
