The hardest enemy and true antagonist of the game
Yes, I am of course referring to the goddamn unplayable camera.
I often enjoy this game, and I really want to love it. The combat system, when it works, flows so beautifully. The game has so much character. But it feels like it never got playtested! So many mass fights that should be swashbuckling and epic are ruined by the camera hiding behind walls, statues, flags and fabric, so I end up having to just kite everyone out into an open plain so I can actually see wtf I'm doing.
For a game that likes to set fights in caves, castles and narrow streets - which should make for fantastic atmospheric fights! It is just absolutely appalling at navigating itself. And the choices it makes for the directions it thinks you want to make combat moves in are often baffling on top of that.
I've gotten good at fighting, to the point that the only thing that ever really frustrates me in combat is that damn camera. I'm happy to die against a hard enemy - it makes eventually beating them all the sweeter. And I don't complain when I die because I got a little reckless or stoned. But I'm tired of fighting the camera so much. It ruins what should be lots of fun.
