Need advice… training 4month old puppy

Hi everyone,

My husband has grown up with dogs, but I have never had one before. We got our golden retriever puppy in August, and she entered a DINK household, but with two cats (4 y/o female; 3 y/o male). Lately our golden has been sneaking off and eating our cat’s food. It’s an expensive mix of two prescription diets including a calming formula to help the cats adjust to the puppy.

I have no idea what we can do to (other than keeping her isolated in her own space) get her to stop meandering off and eating the cat food. Does anyone with more experience have any advice or suggestions?
