Advice on low/no annual fee cards?

  • Current cards:

    • Discover It Chrome $2,000 limit, September 2023
  • FICO Score: 760
  • Oldest account age: 2 years, 2 months
  • Average monthly spend and categories:
    • dining $150
    • groceries: $150
    • gas: $100
    • travel: $0

So I think I kind of messed up getting the Blue Cash Everyday by Amex, but I just wasn't sure if the Preferred would be worth it given the annual fee and my low spend. For context, I am a college student and I might be getting food assistance in the future (if the government allows). Anyways, the card earns 3% on gas, grocery, and online purchases. I'm looking for something to cover my dining since I spend quite a lot there (comparatively lol). Right now I'm using the Discover earning 2%. I'm looking for cashback and I've heard good things about the Citi Custom Cash. I'm open to points cards but I'm not sure if I'd be able to utilize them since I don't travel. I also exclusively get my gas at Costco, and I was considering the Costco card but heard mixed reviews. Gas is one of my highest spend categories and I shop there weekly. Are there any pros/cons that could sway me one way or another towards the Custom Cash vs the Costco Anywhere vs other unmentioned options?
