retroarch vs emulation pack with psnes, pnes, etc

so i downloaded an emulation pack 80gb with the p**** emulators , pnes, psnes

afaik both are extremely outdated but i really dont want to install linux to get the full experience i only want to run somes games on the side

should i bother with getting to run the retroarch port ? heard it runs dreamcast well ? is it true ? or I shouldnt bother and just run the emulation pack to play some marios and some mame roms ? any advances in 2025 ? is it all still the same ?
