This has been an absolutely miserable journey…. I don’t even see the light at the end of the tunnel

For starters, early September I noticed some gum pain and inflammation in the lower right that wasn’t going away. Turns out, it was my wisdom tooth breaching. It was very sideways and impacted and basically caused pericornitis

Got it out (with my fully extracted uppers, no issues there) on October 2nd. Since then, the lower extraction site has just NOT been healing properly. While it APPEARED fine, it was not feeling fine a month in, and had been honestly getting a little worse over the course of last week. My ear and neck both pulsated and radiated pain, it all just felt tight and pressurey, but the sight all looked healthy. No major swelling on face or fever foul taste etc (aka classic infection symptoms)

I realize a heavily impacted extraction site can take a bit to heal, but it really didnt feel like super measured improvement past the initial acute removal pain etc

I went to my surgeon yesterday for him to have a look. He ended up making an incision, basically reopening the site which had basically just closed…. And cleaned it out. He also did a culture to test for infections

He said he didn’t see anything overly convening. Just said a lot of granulation tissue he washed out but no pus bacterial stuff etc

But then he still said to take augmentin? Should I wait for the results of the culture? I have some pretty gnarly GI issues and even the post op amoxicillin had me messed up. I hate to nuke my gut again this soon, if not necessary?

I just am so confused and dejected. I really don’t know what to do or when this thing fully heals. It’s been 2 months of this before and after operation :(
