Communal Chalice for the Eucharist

I attended Mass for the first time last weekend. Although I can’t take Communion yet as I have not finished OCIA, I have a concern. Let me start off by saying that I have immunocompromised family members and a newborn child. At the parish I’m attending Mass & OCIA, all of the parishioners drink from the same two chalices. I won’t let this stop me from taking my first communion but it did leave me concerned about hygiene. Again I hate to seem so shallow when discussing the Eucharist, especially when Jesus healed the sick, so I apologize in advance if that’s how this is taken. I’m new to the faith. If my comment is not taken as an insult to the Eucharist, can someone please offer advice or explanation on how to consume the blood of Christ in a way that is more sanitary?
