Converting My Old PC to a NAS

As the title says, I’m weighing whether I can/should convert my old rig into a NAS or small home server. This will be my first foray into that whole world.

I’m retiring: CPU: Ryzen 5 1500x GPU: Radeon RX5600 XT MOBO: ASRock AB350m RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GBx2.

Should I use this rig as the start of a home server? I also considered trying to sell it to fund a NAS, but I have no clue what it’s worth or if that makes sense. Thanks!
