Unfortunately, I lost almost everything in a hard-drive crash some time ago. But, I rediscovetrd these odds-and-ends that I had sent to my friend. They paint a picture of my approach.

___

**Context:** I have a 5th-gen 4Runner. The backseats fold down, but there's about a 1.5" drop between the backseats and the rear cabin floor.

_____

**Image 1:** After measurements, I went to the hardware store and purchased the cheapest sheet of wood that would still be sturdy enough to hold my weight.

**Image 2:** I cut the wood into 5 pieces. There are 2 boards to be used as the platform, and 3 supports. The supports should slide in and interlock with the boards.

**Image 3:** It worked! I was estatic because in theory versus in practice. On paper it looked like it'd work. But, I'd never know until I made it. It held my weight just find.

**Image 4:** I stained all the pieces for a polished look. In the back, you can sort of make out those supports that interlocks with the boards.

**Image 5:** The platform assembled, stained, and dried.

**Image 6:** A close-up.

**Image 8:** I purchased a composit foam mattress from amazon. It fit width-wise, but it was too long to fit into the cabin ofnthe 4Runner.

**Image 9:** A closure look of the length difference. It was about 8" that needed to be cut.

**Image 10:** I measured, Drew the line, and used a bread knife powered by my Jackery 1000 Plus to cut the foam mattress.

**Image 11:** The finished product. This was about 1.5 years ago. My build has continued to evolve to meet my needs.

_____

I'm looking to re-build the platform. It's still in good shape. But, my craftsmanship as gotten better. And I have plans of dual-purpose one of the boards as a makeshift table. Like, I can pull it out, and reassemble it as a table. That might be a next Apring type of project.

I found some old images of my build journey from 1.5 years ago!
