What the hell is going on in Sudan?

Hello, everyone. I've been reading about the war in Sudan lately, but I still don't fully understand the magnitude of what's happening (who is fighting whom? Where? Why?). Today, while browsing X/tweets, I came across what they said was a Google Maps screenshot showing what appeared to be bodies lying in huge piles somewhere in Sudan. It shocked me.

My question is: could that image be legitimate? Do Google Maps images allow you to see something like that in real time? Or is it more likely to be misinformation?

I am not saying this lightly; I care about human life and want to understand the situation seriously.
