Removing items from cart at checkout

It is aggravating when the store will just remove items from your cart as you are checking out. If I add something to my cart it should reserve it for a period of time so I can buy it instead of just letting it get sold out, especially with the $40 shipping. Happened with the SPF Wizard, makes me just not want to buy anything if I would have to pay shipping multiple times.
