I think I learned how to "be a person" from cartoons, and now it's kinda catching up to me
I realized a lot of autistic folks have that sort of cartoonish personality because so many of us learned how to be and act from cartoons. Considering nobody really wanted to be around a lot of us or teach us how to socialize, so we learned from TV characters instead :,)
But for me, I always gravitated toward silent characters like Agent Maine/The Meta from RVB, Snake Eyes from G.I. Joe, Pucca from…. Well…. Pucca, Master Chief from Halo, or even the Rabbids when I’m feeling super energetic.
Because of that, I naturally became quiet and introverted. My biggest “influences” were characters who don’t talk. It’s kind of been detrimental because I’m 20 now, and I still don’t really know how to talk very well. I’ve gotten a lot better over the years, but I definitely started experiencing skill regression after I got my diagnosis at 17.
