Season 27 Easier natural super glides?

Apex added a built-in super glide. I disabled it because it kills tap-strafing out of the glide. After turning it off, manual super glides for me, became way more consistent.

Did Respawn intentionally loosen the timing window when the setting is off, or did I just randomly get better at it? Anyone else notice this?
