In need of advice

This might sound a bit silly, but I recently moved from America to the UK. I have about 2 or 3 years of driving experience with automatics and an American license. I don’t have a car, but I have a disability that makes using public transport and getting around extremely difficult without one. I understand that most cars here are manual, which is fine, but I’ve had about four lessons so far and feel like I’m actually getting worse.

I know it can’t be that hard since so many people manage it, but I’m really starting to feel discouraged. I can’t rely on public transport much longer because the pain from my disability is getting worse, and it’s becoming very difficult for me to work.

My instructor says I’m doing well, but I still stall over five times in a 20–30 minute period. I really want to get my license as soon as possible. I moved a little over two months ago, and it’s getting harder to cope without driving.

I’m doing great on the theory test practice (using the 4-in-1 app), so that’s not a concern — it’s just the manual driving that’s getting to me. I also struggle because I can’t practice outside of lessons since I don’t own a car. I’m not sure if it’s worth pushing through with manual or if I should switch to automatic. I was hoping to stay with getting a full lisense as manuals are much more common and cheaper but it is a bit urgent for me and I feel so worried.

Should I keep up with it and is it to soon to tell if I'll pick up on it?
