Montessori school in Ontario

(Hope the question is appropriately for the sub)

My child is in casa (9am - 3:30pm) followed by aftercare (3:30pm-5:30pm)

They are not served snacks in aftercare (last school snack is at 2pm) so he goes without any food from 2pm - 5:30pm (3.5 hours). He's just over 3 years old.

We are not allowed to send snacks for aftercare and kids are not encouraged to ask for snacks either if they are hungry. A lot of times teachers tell them they aren't allowed to give snacks outside of scheduled times.

Is this normal? Please note this is an accredited Montessori school!
