Do you struggle to exercise as a parent?

Advice

Before kids, I was a regular 3x/week gym-goer. But other than occasionally doing a few sets of body-weight exercises, I really struggle to get into a regular exercise routine. I've boiled it down to three issues:

  1. Because 90-95% of my waking hours are spent either working or parenting, I'm exhausted almost all the time.

  2. I barely have any time to pursue my hobbies (which I miss so much), so when I do manage to find some free time, I'm much more likely to pursue my hobbies than exercise.

  3. Every time I try to establish an exercise routine, I seem to get sick. This was much more common when my kids were in daycare (and let's face it, daycares are basically germ incubation centers), but even now with a 7yo and 4yo, I get sick several times a year. By contrast, before kids I might have gotten sick once every two years.

I wonder if any other parents have found a way to establish an exercise routine and stick with it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
