Rear Shock Step Adjustment

Since our bike's suspension is so buttery smooth and just a delight to ride even in bumpy roads, i was a bit concerned on how soft it is once i got a pillion on me. I was thinking of adjusting the shock a bit more on a stiffer side but i am having a hard time doing so due to tight spaces.

To those who've managed to adjust their rear suspension, how'd you do it?
