Considering a new home cinema setup

Hi everyone. I have been using a Sony HT Z9F soundbar setup (with the dedicated rear speakers) for the past 7 years. If you don't

It works really nice for what I do, but I was wondering if it was worth upgrading to a dedicated setup with a real amp and individual speakers...

Big question for me is, I see that front speakers are usually towers, decently spaced out from each other. My place looks like the attached picture so it's impossible, I just have the space for the subwoofer (which you can't see in the pic, it's in the bottom right hidden by the folded cardboard boxes).

1 - Do you think there's a way to fit decent front speakers in that living room...? Something that would be an obvious upgrade from what I have now.

2 - If not, do you feel it is worth upgrading my soundbar setup? Going to state the obvious, but I wouldn't buy anything that does not have a dedicated subwoofer and rears.

Thank you for the advice.
