Dash Cancels and Verdant Due generations.

I've been playing Nefer for quite a while and an issue that I keep on encountering is that her dash cancel outpaces due generation. You can mediate this with her ult but I heard that aiming for ER on her is a waste. So a question that I have is how often do you dash cancel in a combo? Do you dash cancel every charge attack?
