Question about KvK (first time)

Hi all, I have a question about KvK, as this is my first time experiencing it:

My server may not win the preparation phase given the rival server has a lot of whales.

In the war phase, they will attack our castle. If we fail to defend throughout the event, will they claim the king title? If so, how long?
