Title: Is this considered cheating?
Problem/Goal:
I’m trying to understand if what my ex did counts as cheating, and I’d like advice on how to move on from it.
Context:
Back in August, things started to get rocky between me and my girlfriend. Around that same time, she told me she was planning to move on — but technically, we were still together. We were still intimate, still having sex, visiting each other’s houses, and I would even drive her to and from places.
Then in September, I confronted her and asked if she was talking to someone else. She admitted that she’d been talking to another guy for about a month already. When I asked why she didn’t tell me earlier that she wanted to break up, she said she was just waiting for the right timing.
I also asked if the guy knew about us, and she said no, that she was keeping it “lowkey.”
Despite knowing this, I still tried to pursue her and win her back. About 3 weeks later, we finally had closure and officially broke up. Her reason was that I lacked emotional intelligence and was too busy with work, which I admit has some truth to it.
Now, it seems like she’s already in a new relationship with that same guy she started talking to while we were still together.
Previous Attempts:
I tried to talk things through and make the relationship work even after I found out about the other guy, but it didn’t help. We ended up breaking up, and I’m just left wondering — since we were still together and still intimate while she was already having conversation with someone else, does that count as cheating?
