Yeah I think the dream is dead for real now.

Seven months ago I made a post detailing how I believe I had failed a course at the time and was due for dismissal due to already having one existing suspension under my belt. I never updated the events regarding that post and left a handful of surprisingly concerned individuals in the dark. I'll provide a brief synopsis below to those that don't want to read the original post:

Originally of the class of 2027, I was held back to the class of 2028 due to failing two courses. I came back strong and showed improvement but things took one-to-too many drawbacks when the spring semester began. My GPA tanked because the PY1 spring semester's test days all had two exams per day and that is my academic kryptonite. By a miracle, the one course coordinator (famous for never curving grades) curved the final exam's grades and I actually passed. Now we are here, in the final 2 weeks of the PY2 Fall Semester.

Upon my return for the PY2 fall Semester, my respective school's Academic Referral Committee, aka ARC, placed upon me a signed-upon agreement that I must finish the semester with a certain GPA or be subject to dismissal/suspension. The required GPA can only be achieved if I were to complete Integrated Therapeutics with a B grade or above. We had our penultimate exam, and while I passed, I unfortunately did so without the required grade to keep the B grade. I ran the numbers and unfortunately need (I shit you not) a whopping 100% on the final exam to get a B again. This is all because unfortunately Therapeutics is a very difficult course and the first 2 exams really got the best of me. I have shown improvement in the course but unfortunately not the improvement the ARC is asking of me.

I have already hatched multiple Plans of Action on how to address the situation and am acting upon them. Unfortunately, this could be the actual end of me. While the ARC did state that failure to meet their expectations could result in a suspension at best, the Student Handbook (ad verbatim) states that failure to improve GPA to required grade (if demanded by the ARC) will default to a dismissal.

I haven't given up yet. While I am studying for this exam like never before and plan to meet with the ARC's chairperson ahead of time to show proactivity and willingness to succeed, I know my limits and the range of the ARC's grace of mercy. For all the improvements I have shown, the highest exam grade I've gotten in this class is a 75%. The ARC is also known for being less forgiving and expecting more of their PY2, 3 and 4 students compared to PY1.

The final Hail Mary could involve a remediation exam that is provided by the course. If I beg hard enough, the ARC could tell the Therapeutics course coordinators to make an exception for me and allow me to take the remediation, which is only available to students if they fail (I don't fit the criteria because I am still passing).

But truthfully, either due to fatigue or a perpetual sense of numbness, I don't feel hopeful. I feel like making this meeting with the ARC's headmistress will only result in expediting the dismissal process and in my bones I know that I can't score a perfect on the final exam. Three years of my life, gone. For nothing.
