BF6 Skins and Customization is a major step back from BFV.

Discussion

Im not at all a fan of skins and these egregiously overpriced, micro transactions. But I feel like the skins in this game are huge step back from the customization system we had in BFV. Buying skins in BFV wasnt just unlocking a static character model like in BF6, but you where getting a helmet, shirt and pants you could swap around and really customize the look of your solder with. It was like a GI-Joe lamo. And then those shirts or pants might have more camo options within them giving you even more options for terrain and environment. Almost forgot face paints and hair options too.

Now it’s just a static character model. That’s it.

And then the value of these skin packs? A $10 skin pack in BFV often contained an epic skin, a rare skin, so like six different character customization piece and multiple weapon skins you could all mix and match and even vehicle skins all in one pack themed around whatever that theme was. Still way over priced in my opnion. But I still bought a pack back then.

I was looking forward to a similar system in 6, that we had in 5. Now I’m looking at a $10 skin pack in the BF6 store and it’s two static skins soldier skins, a static weapon skin kit, player card and a sticker??? The fuck? Why’s Dice chronically taking two step backs and not building on good systems that they’ve already laid a foundation for? Even weapon customization in this game is a big step back for what we had in five? Customization in this game is just unlocking the same attachments you’ve already unlocked on other guns and a static blanket skin applied to the gun if thats a camo or one of the kits you get from the store page. And may I rabbit trail here and say, what’s up with the gun progression anyways. Unlock a bipod at rank 4 and then the next gun the bipods like ranks 32 or soemthing???? WHY!?!?

Battlefield 6 is seeming to be less for more. Less maps for more, less content for more. Less player customization for more.
