What speeds can i expect from ntfs-3g ??
Hello guys !!
I'm planing to buy a second ssd to dual boot windows and fedora and use my external ntfs hdd on both.
I tried both ntfs3 and ntfs-3g and the later seems more stable at least on a virtual machine. ntfs3 gave me many "wrong fs type" errors after using the virtual disk(s) on windows.
I haven't decide yet but first i wanted to know what speeds can i expect from ntfs-3g on a real h/w, from an ssd to an external or even internal hdd.
On the virtual machine i'm getting around 40-50 mb/s, from a virtual disk stored on the ssd to a virtual disk stored on the external hdd. Also i'm getting around 60-65 mb/s if both virtual disks are stored on the ssd.
PS: Maybe i was getting these "wrong fs type" errors cause i can't "safely remove" an internal disk even if it's a virtual one, so even after chkdsk on windows. the disk was still marked as "dirty" But i don't really know for sure.
