Opinions on starting Soulframe now rather than later?

Soulframe looks really great, and I while I'm not usually an early adopter, I kind of want to get in on Soulframe early. But is it still too early? Where is the game at, is it worth playing right now or is it more in the tech demo stage? Trying to determine if I want to start now or just wait 6+ months and see where it is at then...
