Starbucks barista crush

So I (M27) have this crush on one of the baristas at the starbucks next to my work. I always go in there to get coffee before my shift and whenever I go in there and she's working, she'll wave at me and we'll make a little conversation each time if things aren't too busy in there (im not trying to get in her way when she's working of course). I'm an awkward/shy person and my last relationship was like 12 years ago so obviously I'm not super experienced with this stuff. I'd like to ask for her number but idk if it comes off as too forward or whatever and I know that her being nice is literally part of the job working at Starbucks so it's hard for me to tell when it's "just being nice" or if she's genuinely interested in me. There are also rarely any good openings for me to ask for her number so idk any advice would be great!
