Resignation Notice Period 4 weeks

Per contract, it states as:

You may terminate your employment at any time by providing XXX Company with four weeks advance written notice price of your intention to resign.

Four weeks is on the longer end - I have only seen two weeks before.

Can I terminate my employment by just giving two weeks notice instead of four?

I doubt there might be risk that the company sues me for breaching the contract….

I had this comment from the HR of a potential new employer stating my notice period is too long and this makes me uncomfortable.
