Exhausted pet owner venting
My pup has become more than I can handle on my own. And not just financially. I’m at a point where her presence is not enjoyable. There’s ALWAYS something wrong with her. She’s getting older so she has some heath things including this paw licking habit that has her basically living in a cone. Seriously I can barely use the bathroom or make her food without putting her in a cone. And I’ve been really trying to take better care of myself and having her actually hasn’t helped at all. No, going for walks doesn’t help, it’s not enjoyable or peaceful. she chases (or tries to) every squirrel or rabbit she see. I adopted her about 6 years ago and I want to take her back. She’ll be 11 soon. None of my family or friends can take her. I don’t want to get rid of her permanently I don’t think but I need a serious break. I literally don’t even have kids. How do people with kids, dogs, partners and ADHD do this?? I feel like I’m reaching a breaking point. She needs so much attention and just so much in general. Shes really a sweetheart aside from her health issues and the fact that im having trouble managing her general needs alongside my own. I just feel like im ashamed and full of so much guilt for even thinking about taking her back to where i adopted her from. I tried to post about re-homing on my location resort pages and they kept getting removed which really triggered a lot with my Audhd. Just really fkn tired and resisting getting ride of my girl
