Hi everybody,

I've been browsing /paranormal for a long time now but never had an experience to share - until now!

Backstory: I went on a ghost walk on devil's night (Oct 30) at a local haunted fort that was built around the war of 1812 and took tons of photos through out. Because it was 8 at night most of them didn't turn out, except this one. This image was taken in a long dark tunnel that ran from the inside of the fort through the hills that defended it to a small watchtower on the perimeter. The tunnel itself was very dark and after the guide lead the twenty of us in single file (after a few warnings about bats) I followed my wife into the tunnel with five or so others coming in behind me. Unfortunately, due to a warping of my cornea I see horribly in the dark and was relying entirely on the barely visible shape of my wife to lead me through the narrow passage.

About halfway through some kids behind me started freaking out and one of them pushed me a little - no doubt reaching through the dark and trying to get through the tunnel faster. I turned my head to tell them to settle down, I couldn't see anything and I wasn't about to hurry up just for them. When I looked forward again, though, I could clearly see the rest of the tunnel and the rest of the group was twenty feet or so ahead and waiting for the rest of us. My wife was among them, impatiently wondering what was taking me so long. Who, or what, was I following? It blocked my view of the guides lanturn but was gone when I looked back after scolding the excited kids behind me.

I was a little weirded out but hurried along and let the tour continue. I didn't really think much about it but took several photos in the dark of the tunnels end, and this was the only one that turned out. All the others were pitch black.

Thanks for reading all that and I'd be very interested in hearing your thoughts on this, my current Fox Mulder theory is that this is what lead me into the tunnel, I don't feel like it's malicious or evil, just a trickster from beyond the lands of the living, finding passage to our world when the "veil is the thinnest" and doing what it does best.

A phantom trickster? (Now with photo!)
