The beauty of BPD.

:token: It's Not the End of the World

Warning: if you have really severe depression, bipolar, schizophernia, psychosis, you may not relate to this post.

I find that there is something beautiful in BPD; it's knowing that our feelings are forever coming and going.

I feel I can never be truly depressed because my BPD trumps it. Because yes, people with depression do experience joy, but my joy is just as intense as the depression. And yes, it made be from something superficial, like my current obsession or passion, but those moments of intense happiness, excitement, joy, hope is what keeps me going. It reminds me that hey, I can feel things other than despair, that my spark is still here. I know because my emotions are always fleeting that light is never truly gone. The light is just as intense as the darkness. My intensity equals my strength.

Another benefit is medication; I know no medication will save me. Yes, take medication, it is a pillar of support, but I know im not defined by it. I've seen so many people have to take medication and after decades it ruins their livers. Yes, that is the case for some people with BPD, but I have gratitude that I am not one of them. Some people feel hopeless no medication will help, but it makes me feel optimistic; medication will not make or break me, I am in charge of my mental health.
