Just gave my cat Advantage II - would it be safe to give her NexGard as well?

Pet information: Spayed female 16 year old domestic shorthair cat. 8.5 lbs. Indoor/outdoor. Located in Michigan. Found a (dead) engorged adult deer tick on her last week.

So I just gave my cat a one month dose of Advantage II (topical) for cats 5-9 lbs, and then I looked at the box and realized that it only treats for fleas and not ticks. My concern is ticks, having found one on her recently. I also have NexGard combo (topical) for cats 2.5-7.5 kg, which DOES treat for ticks, but I don't know if it would be safe to give her the NexGard now that she just got a dose of the Advantage II. She is regularly given flea/tick meds on a monthly basis, but according to a family member it may have been missed for October, and I'm not sure which one she's normally given because I'm not normally the one who gives it (and I'm not sure if they realized that the Advantage is only for fleas).

Is there a certain time period to generally wait between doses, even though they are two different products? Or should I just not give her the NexGard at all this month now that she's been given the Advantage II?

Thanks in advance!
