HDMI IN or HDMI ARC but not both. LG S90TY

Hi, I have a console connected to the hdmi input of my soundbar, and the soundbar hdmi output connected to the eARC TV port of a LG C4 tv.

When I want to use the console connected to the hdmi input I have to manually select "hdmi in" in the soundbar app. Then I can use the console and output its audio via the soundbar.

However, changing to live tv or any other input needs the soundbar to be back to "optical/hdmi arc", otherwise I have no audio. But then I can't recieve signal from the console unless I turn back "hdmi in" .

I find this weird and stupid and I was hoping to be able to use the hdmi input without major issues and not having to switch manually everytime.

Is there any way to make it automatically switch? I'm not sure if HDMI-CEC would help (tho I have it off because I usually have different hdmi devices connected at the same time)
