Looking for apartment to rent any help please

I am 18 years old moving to toronto from England on November 15th, I will stay in a hostel for a week or so and i am looking for an apartment to rent, or a shared household, whatever is cheapest. I'm struggling to find where to look and what to look for. Does anyone have any advice?
