Question about your thoughts on Jews

Hello everyone, I am an Australian Jew and I want to ask you all a question. I've noticed that there is a solidarity with Palestinians for many Aboriginal people. I can understand why and to be clear i don't believe Palestinians should be oppressed or killed and I don't like the current Israeli government or the decisions they have been making.

So this question is not about the Palestinians and their rights, it is about Jews.

From a Jewish perspective, we are also indigenous to that area. That's where our ethnogenesis happened and all our mythology and festivals have to do with agriculture of that specific area - it's flora and fauna, it's natural rain and sun cycles, its rivers, hills and wells.

I just want to know what you mob think about that because I've seen Aboriginal people say Jews are exactly like white colonisers and I just can't understand why. Jews were colonised, we held on to our language, our culture, and our land based rituals. For two thousand years we longed to return. Yes, some of us mixed with western Europeans. But so have many Aboriginals. Does that make you not Aboriginal? Do you think that your kids should lose land rights because they aren't "full blood"? (I know that is offensive, that's why I'm saying it - to draw attention to how offensive it is to call Ashkenazi Jews not real Jews). To me it is less that Jews are colonisers as that colonisers (both Christian and Muslim) came in and converted some of us, while others kept our old ways. How would you respond if a completely Christianised Aboriginal person who identified as white called you an invader in your own country, just cos they had been living there the whole time and you hadn't, even though you held onto your culture and they didn't?

I'm not asking about whether or not you support the current Israeli government, but I'm asking if you have any sympathy for the Jewish connection to the land of the Levant, and the desire to return there and live safely and in peace. And if not, why not?
