Should I reach out to Hiring Manager in company, over an internal transfer

Applications

Hi,

I've currently been with this large company for about two years now and wanted to move into a different role.

I saw a new role that came up on Workday that I'm very interested in, and believe that I'm a good fit for it as well. I'm worried that the internal recruiter may not pass my resume off to the hiring manger. I have a lot of close colleagues who would vouch for me, and that have relationships with this hiring manager.

Would it be too awkward for me to approach her at her office, to just talk about the role and learn more? Perhaps I could do a teams or email first? Frankly, I'm not sure what to say either, but I really want this role as it would mean a big pay bump for me.
