How to deal with money during a marriage.

I (36M) been married to my wife (F38) for 8 years. In the past year we bought a house. Recently our marriage has been rocky but we promised eachother to do everything in our power to have the house. Couple of months ago, I was laid off of work and was lucky to have found a job. During my non-working period we used her savings (which is her money saved from her work, which is also emergency savings for the house). In which I thought we were going to use, to get a new HVAC system. Now she tells me, that I pay half and she pays half. Even though we already used the emergency savings to do other work for the house. And she keeps telling me to get a second job. And now I have to use my credit card to pay half, which I wasn’t expecting, that recently I’m still paying off my credit credit due to the move. I’m not saying what she is doing is wrong, but I think she’s punishing me because I lost my job and didn’t have a second income and basically is saving you figure it out.

tl;dr should I ask my wife to use the emergency savings to pay for the hvac installation?
