Bad Medical News
Yesterday I went to the doctors to review my bloodwork and my at home sleep test. I unfortunately got some difficult news.
It turns out I’ve developed sleep apnea which can get worse. The sleep test revealed that I had 20 instances during my sleep wherein I stopped breathing completely. It’s no wonder why I’m constantly tired and feeling like my head is in the clouds.
Then I was told from my bloodwork that I’ve high cholesterol and damn near having diabetes (was a few points off for an official diagnosis).
These 3 factors combined made my doctor recommend I begin an active lifestyle and completely restrict the things I eat to improve my overall health.
It feels really difficult to accept atm bc my whole goal was to gain. I’m currently 275lbs for a 5’6” guy (bmi of 44) and my goal was to get to 300lbs. Now I’m likely going to have to lose a decent chunk of weight so as to improve my health.
I know health comes first so that’ll be my new priority but it sucks knowing that I’ll no longer be able to do what I enjoy which is gaining.
If you’ve struggled with complications like this too, how did you manage?
