MacBook Pro 16 inch 2019 Intel - AlDente makes machine overheat?
So I have a MacBook Pro 16 inch 2019 Intel model, and I heard that AlDente is a good app to use for monitoring battery life. Better than CoconutBattery. I liked the enhanced metrics AlDente offers.
I installed the Pro version of AlDente (Thanks SetApp) and set the limit to 80%.
I then started discharging the battery.
Within a few minutes my laptop was starting to run hot. 36 degrees hot for the battery. I asked my dad how hot it was and he said "It feels quite hot." I then uninstalled the app. The warmth of the machine dissipated within a few minutes.
My machine is old and the battery is around 82% capacity of a brand new machine.
Did I luck out with running it on Intel? or is it designed more so for Apple Silicon machines?
