People need to stop infantilising the Moms.

They are fully grown women, and were fully grown women on the show too. Everyone is entitled to make mistakes and to be given the opportunity to to grow, even as adults, but when people call their behaviour out and people try putting everything down to trauma, healing, it’s not a reason for them to not be held accountable and be called out. Especially when it’s consistent patterns of behaviour. Another thing, when people talk about past behaviours from the show, whether that mom has later held themselves accountable and apologised, it does not erase the past or take any blame away from them. It’s respectable and great when they do hold themselves accountable but it doesn’t then mean when watching or talking about a scene or topics of the show this stuff can’t be address in conversation and mean people should not be able to talk about how wrong this stuff was, just because now they may have been accountable for it and learnt from it. The impact this stufff had on other people likely is what resulted in growth. This stuff still happened, they were fully grown women with kids on the show, they should have known better. I fully appreciate them holding themselves accountable, learning, and being different today, and I also appreciate they were also in a high pressure, traumatic situation and should be given grace to heal and grow. But it does not erase the past, and certain stuff such as, ignorance, racism, homophobia, bullying etc is never just going to be swept under the carpet and forget even if later down the line they apologise, it makes it a little better, it’s respectable they held themselves accountable, but doesn’t erase the event that fully grown adults partook in.
