Expelled from UL (Ireland) Nursing – can I reapply for the same degree elsewhere?
Hi everyone,
I was studying Nursing at the University of Limerick (UL) but unfortunately, I was expelled after failing clinical placements more than twice. It’s been a very difficult experience, but I’m now determined to start fresh and finish my degree, even if that means moving to another university.
I’ve already read the admission policies for students who were withdrawn or failed from other institutions, and I’ve contacted several universities (including Galway, Waterford, and Cork) to ask if they might consider my case.
I’m wondering: • Has anyone here ever been expelled or withdrawn from Nursing and later readmitted to the same course (even at another university)? • Does Nursing or Midwifery make this process harder compared to other degrees? • Would it be better for me to apply to a private college instead, to start again from scratch?
I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences you could share. I know this is a sensitive topic, but I’m genuinely trying to move forward and rebuild my career in healthcare.
Thanks in advance 💛
