Highway 50 Chaos

Does anyone know if CalTrans has ever issued a public statement or publicly acknowledged the safety issues during construction? I'm seeing another multiple-lane-closing accident on east bound 50 right now and have been noticing that this happens almost daily. Has CalTrans ever acknowledged that people feel so unsafe during this construction?

PS to the driving public, for the love of god SLOW DOWN! I've seen more reckless driving in the past 3 months on these highways than I have in my entire life.
