Why does Verizon suck here?

I recently relocated to Bentonville and my cell phone is perpetually stuck at 2 bars. If I'm around downtown, service is nonexistent. Verizon customer service insists it's an issue with my device even though it's fine when I'm not here and I know multiple people in the area with the exact same issue.
