Low T

Physical Health

Putting my story out there, keen to hear other peoples experiences with low T

For the past few months I've been feeling pretty rubbish. Feel like it's been a struggle to go for walks. My body feels super 'heavy'. 0 interest in sex.

I tried a bunch of things to help, ate more, 9+ hours sleep, electrolytes, change workout schedule.

I've lost around 30kg since the end of last year, been in a few half marathons.

On a normal week I run around 25-30km, and do 4-5 weight sessions. At the moment I've dialled back the intensity of my runs to with the fatigue.

I first got a blood test several months ago and it all look really good, but I still felt like crap. I did some Internet self diagnosing and felt my symptoms seemed very similar to others with low T.

I specifically asked my doctor to test my hormones. My doctor gave me a bit of a lecture of how unlikely my testosterone was causing any issues.

The first result (which was taken in the afternoon) was 2.2Lnmol/L. My doctor referred me to an endochronologist.

Took another couple of blood tests a week a part earlier in the morning. Levels were higher. Testosterone was 7.9nmol/L, free Testosterone was 95 pmol/L.

I'm currently waiting for my next endo appointment to discuss treatment options. I don't really want to cut back too much on training. I'm enjoying working towards some big runs early next year.

The endo requests an MRI on my pituitary. I live in a fairly remote part of Australia where it takes months to get an MRI appointment. I'm a little worried this will hold things up.

That's where i'm at, no questions for the Internet really, just felt like sharing!
